In Haiti, Hibiscus is called "Choeblack" it is known to be used as a shoe polisher when its fresh. The dried leaves may be used as a tea to drink and may contain many healing properties. In other cultures, its used to heal wounds and incisions. Hibiscus is also used to dissolve blockages in the energetic centers. Additionally, hibiscus is also known to be used a face wash which aids in tightening the skin due to its astringent properties. May be toxic to liver in large doses. Avoid during pregnancy.
